Adventure HQ is an outdoor adventure superstore born and bred in Dubai. It is a dedicated outdoor adventure retail specialist offering equipment for a wide range of active lifestyle pursuits. Adventure HQ launched in Dubai in 2011 and now has five outlets throughout the UAE totaling 90,000sqf. 

Role Description

This is a full-time on-site role based in Dubai for a Category Manager (Water Sports/Beachwear). The Category Manager will look after a portfolio of brands and manage the relationship with brand's Principals and Suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Curate brands and products to be included on the portfolio
  • Manage Brands OTB and Sell-Thru
  • Define go to market strategy
  • Define markdowns and liquidation strategy
  • Monitor market trends, industry developments, and competitor activities to make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Conduct regular assessments of product quality and vendor performance.
  • Stay informed about advancements and innovations in water sports equipment.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management or related field. A background in sports management or recreational sports will be consider a plus.
  • Proven experience in buying, planning, product management, preferably within the retail or sporting goods industry.
  • Experience in negotiating contracts, managing supplier relationships, and optimizing inventory levels.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, coupled with analytical abilities to assess market trends and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Proficiency in Excel
